Ever since Pop Champagne posted their song on her blog, I can not stop listening to "Patron Tequila." I was drawn to the fact that they were deemed the next "Pussycat Dolls." I'm not a huge die hard PCD fan, but I do love the club beats and so I was intrigued.
1) Don't let any precedents bias your view.
2) Don't judge a book by its cover.
The Paradiso Girls, while having the girl group vibe with styles verging on "slutty," they're actually very intelligent, sweet girls! Their bios, all written in first person, by them, reveal a writer, a wife/mother, an athlete, a painter, and much more. Their music may not be "intellectual," but these girls are artists in the truest sense possible.2) Don't judge a book by its cover.
They're diverse (France, Barbados, England, Phillipines, AND US!), they're is no lead singer (3 singers, 1 rapper, 1 DJ), they're extremely smart (Aria speaks four different languages!), and they don't take themselves seriously. They embrace their femininity (I'm pretty sure every one of them said they love shopping) and sexuality, but don't flaunt it. They embrace the fact that they are human as well, a trait I love most in a person. They joke, make fun of themselves, acknowledge their imperfections....
They are individuals, and I cannot wait until these girls get their chance to really shine. Do check them out!
PS Modern Dreamer is back. Who am I kidding, I can't go on a blog hiatus.
