we really can't assume...

getting pregnant in high school.
getting mugged.
having sex for the first time.
choosing love over work, or vice versa.
ending a perfect relationship
We can assume what we'd do in these situations {adoption, punch to the face, waiting until marriage, compromise!} but obviously we really can't make decisions until we've been put in the predicament. Nor can we judge the people who do make their own decisions. All of these weird situations, we can never quite know what to expect. Yes, I could say I'm totally waiting until marriage to have sex, but, really, is that even plausible? Marriage these days is as flimsy as a normal relationship... Or I could say "I'd totally kick the mugger's ass ten times over if he tried to hurt me!" But no one really knows until the complete terror of someone with your life in their hands has descended what they'll do.
So, I think before we scream out in movies "What are you doing?!" or judge the girl in the hallways or work rooms whose got a growing bump until we've been in the situation ourselves...
Instead of judging, we should offer support. We may not know the girl or guy whose going through all this, but we can at least let them know, we don't judge them. We're there, albeit oddly, if they desperately need someone.

  2. You're right, in some points we can't say what would we do...or we can say and then do something completly different.
thanks for recommending forever21! I think I've seen its website before, they have some great clothes,but.. bad news for me - no Polish shipping again ;(

  3. This is such a lovely post and it is so true! I have a thing that no one should ever judge me by their standards, and I do not judge anyone by mine

  4. you're right, we really can't assume wha we'd do. You feel prepared and decided before, and you know what you should have done later, but at the very moment, it's oh so different.

  5. So true, darling.
What's the saying? Judge not, lest ye be judged.

  6. This is actually quite profound. I can't stand those who judge prematurely - when you're lacking the whole story, there's a lot to be missed. :)

  7. I believe that people make their own choices and they should take responsibility for them. I agree with you that we shouldn't judge people so quickly.

P.S. I've been mugged before and I screamed so loud that he ran away! Thank Goodness! But it left me a really uneasy feeling for the next couple of days!

  8. Couldn't agree more. The world would be a much better place if we all felt this way. And it's true, in the end our choices define our lives. And whose to say what's a good choice or a bad one?

  9. i understand what you mean.
mostly people lean toward the waiting until marriage side, but these dayz,
    idk. it's confusing.
i'm glad you posted this up.
gave me some time to think more about this matter.

  11. wow, so true. i guess the best you can do is have your thoughts on what you would do and try to stick to your guns...otherwise, there's flexibility and compromise.

  12. Very true. My sister just got pregnant, half way through college at age 21. Couldn't agree with you more.

  13. I absolutely agree, I hate when people judge without ever knowing that it is like to walk a mile in someone else shoes....but people are always going to judge, however there are always those few who will lend a hand :)

  14. Completely agree. Do not judge someone without knowing em. Tres cheesy but also very true.

  15. I completely agree, all people are different and we will all behave differently but make the right choice for ourselves. :)
