boys boys boys

Yes, I suppose it is time for that kind of post. It seems some of my friends are plagued by boys. Seeing as how we know a boy could very easily be a Prince Charming figure and how sweet they are when they choose to take on such a role, it is hard when we must realize that the majority of these boys aren't going to choose the princely route. There are the boys who are nerdy and cute, but hopelessly awkward and in the end lacking that spark required to fall in love. There are those boys who are hopeless flirts and too outgoing for their own good that in the end have too many choices and too many raging hormones to be any good for you. There the bad ones who are just so awful and rude that for some reason we feel the need to fall for them when in the end we're hurt more than anything. Of course all these kinds of guys will mature, hopefully, or get their due in the end. I still believe that true love can change a person if needed and plow through each sides' shortcomings.
But let's face it.
Gilbert Blythe, Edward Ferrars, Rhett Butler, Mr. Darcy, and Mr. Rochester are not real people, and boys aren't looking to them as role models.
We are also in the 21st century. Happiness does not equal boys. Our choices, our decisions, our arguments, our fights, our life should not have to do with boys. Friendships should not end over a boy. Job, college--those decisions should not rely on a boy. Our confidence should not come from a boy.
So the next time you find your mood affected by a single boy, try and picture everything else that is going well in your life and decide, "Well if he likes me, we'll go from there, but if he doesn't that I won't waste my time trying to change his mind!"

  1. Seriously thanks for this. I've had so many awful boy experiences, just don't care anymore. Its true that guys don't, and shouldn't define our lives, and too many girls constantly need to be with a guy.

  2. It's funny how we always think we can change them. Took me giving a nice guy a shot before I found real happiness!

  6. Wonderful post I couldn't agree more. Wouldn't it be nice if the boys looked at Mr Darcy for a role mode!

  7. Yeeah. You are right as per usual. And since my last catastrophic efforts to get a normal love life have miserably failed, leaving me with nothing but myself, i have been trying to live like that for a while. It's not that hard, in spite of what i thought, and it can be like a magnet. More self confidence and independence brings more respect and stuff.
Like, a few days ago, back in London, me and another ton of people were going to Harrods, a friend of mine, been in love with him years ago, thing never really faded, now sort of came back to the surface, he never respected me nor liked me that much but now we're good friends, asked me if i could do him a favour? of coursem what favour?, well if i could buy him something for his sister and some other stuff and i could but whatever, i could chose anything under 50 pounds. Let alone the fact that i don't know his sister and i was like whathehellamigonnado i was super flattered and self pleased. It really didn't have to do with the aspect of the thing when you'll admit it's the sort of thing you have you girlfriend doing, there were plenty of girls, friends of him, he could ask this.People he was closer with perhaps? But it must have been a combination of being sure they would let me in ( yes they wouldn't let my friends in! ) and that i would choose something very nice. THiS, this respect towards my taste and this trust in me is what i took for good, and i left all the rest of the deed apart.
Trying to live this way, trying hard. Will let you know if it works! xx

Ps i'm posting my snaps of London soon!

  10. Opps sorry I just misunderstood you! I didn't know you are Chinese. Sorry for my post. And speaking about yours - i agree, but (there's always 'but' in real life, isn't it?) for example - i ended a friendship because of a boy and after some time I realized how silly that person was! I met some friends and they told me that a girl I thought was my best friend spreaded (ops,is it the right form? i'm not a fluent english speaker..or writer) some nasty gossips about me and told some bad stuff. So in the end I fortunately! lost an untrue friend and still have a boyfriend.!

  11. HAHAH "There are the boys who are nerdy and cute, but hopelessly awkward and in the end lacking that spark required to fall in love" that describes EVERY GUY I WORK WITH. Gawd their talks on computers and games just turn me on so much everyday... not!!!

Hehe yeah those pics of Shia are super weird! Nice to know that there are still a lot of creepers out there even though the news always say about how crime rate is slowly going down! hehe

  12. I stopped believing in a fact that love can change a man because really if you love them, then you shouldn't want to change them. I think that part of being a girl is having to deal with all of the ups and downs that are caused my men and their interesting nature...if you look at it as just another life experience the pain is a bit easier to bear :)

  13. Good point, that the novel characters aren´t living among us for real. Just wondering who are the role models of the boys of these days?
